Identifying heavenly kisses has been one of my favorite things to find ever since I first heard about them. There was a speaker who
mentioned the concept and had no idea just how well it had
resonated with me. Since the session I’ve personally seen these
play out in two different ways.
1) The first kind of heavenly kiss from heaven I recognized is
the one where God sends something your way to remind
you that He is there and that He still loves you. They can
come off as insignificant to other people, but they have a
very personal meaning to you. For example, I dedicated
my life to God in the middle of a rainstorm. A couple weeks
ago I was having a hard day where I was dealing with a lot
of frustration and abandonment in regards to not being
home. I had shut myself down and wasn’t really present
throughout the day and God sent me the biggest
rainstorm. My squad wound up running, playing, dancing,
throwing root beer floats at each other, and simply dwelling
in it. The storm brought me back to that rainy day in
Florida and all the emotions that were distracting me,
melted off and I was taken back to the childlike awe that I
had when I first surrendered my life to Him.
Not all of the kisses are that heavy. I also see cardinals and blue jays everywhere and they always remind me that God is with me. Art galleries I never get to go into, clovers, sunsets, purple flowers, dancing, and a good cup of coffee, along with a bunch of other little random things, all seemingly regular and disinteresting, are all little things that God provides to simply remind me He’s present.
2. The second kind of heavenly kiss that I’ve picked up on has been people. God tends to send people my way with little messages from Him to make sure that I know that I’m loved. An example of this would be on bad hair days. I went from curling my hair every week to living out of a tent. With that said, living with my natural hair has been… a process… to say the least. There have been days where I haven’t felt the best about it and I’ve just had to deal. Somehow, always on those days, God sends a random person who I’ve never talked to to say that my hair looks beautiful and I look extra pretty that day. God hears you even when you don’t mean for him to.
Ever since my eyes have been opened to heavenly kisses I’ve experienced so many surreal ‘Thank you God’ moments. I’ve had so many moments where I’ll just break into laughter because God brought something into my life that He knew I needed. It’s sad how many of these childlike, awe-filled moments I’ve ignored or missed out on because of how distracted I was. I painted them like coincidences and I never took them for what they were.
This week I challenge you to take time and dwell on the little random things that tug at your heartstrings. Ask why he sent you that kiss. Where was your head at and what were you walking in? Write them down and enter into a short time of “THANK YOU GOD!” {and if it’s funny… LAUGH!}
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and revelations with us. I promise to slow down and pray that God reveal himself in all things.. even the tinniest of things. God is a God of details, down to the specks on your eyes. His power and love for us can found even in the details… I love you my daughter, and I am always praying for you.
This hits home for me and is a great reminder of His love for me. I do see Him everyday in the smallest of details but fail to acknowledge Him. Thank you baby girl! I love and miss you
Alyssa!!!
Lee here! It was truly a gift from God to be able to serve and get to know you and your squad! So overjoyed hear the testimonies and beautiful reminders of God encouraging you. He does love you more than you can ever fathom! Try checking out Psalm 139 sometime! It’s a scripture that encourages me and reminds me of who he is!! I hope you all are having a wonderful first week overseas! I know it won’t always be easy but I know God has so much in store for you!
Alyssa, I just love how much you’re growing??
Love this Alyssa. It is so true. We just have to be open to seeing those kisses from God. Thank you for the reminder (I needed it)!
