Hey everyone!

I feel like one of the biggest things that the people on my race (myself included) are struggling with… would be fundraising. So I figured that I’d just hop on here and share some lessons I’ve learned, alongside some much needed encouragement.

FUNDRAISING TIPS:

1) Your circle.

how many of the people in your life would go out of their way to help you with this? Those 1, 2, or more, people that pops into your head are the people you need to be talking to. I’m not talking about finding people that will fund your race… I’m talking about people that will get other people to your race.
i have 2-5 friends what want so badly, to help me get to where I need to be, but don’t have jobs. They can still help!!  The fundraise I’m doing right now, was an idea a close friend gave me. Set up meeting with them have “pow pows“ and explore all your options with them.

This one is actually really important in the long run. It was explained to me like if you know 100 people, and 1 friend of yours knows 100 different people… that’s 200 people that could be generating traffic towards your donation site!

2) Don’t be lazy!
If you start a fundraiser, promote it, talk about it, share it multiple times. You have no idea how many times people will see your poster and say, “oh yeah I should totally do that.” And then forget. Be hard to forget!

3) Do what you like!

If you like something, you’re more likely to give it extra special attention. Right now, I’m doing a book drive where I collect books and sell them in bundles online. I love reading, so this is something that I’m really excited about! Now if I were to be doing a video drive, I wouldn’t feel the same burn.
It also adds to the authenticity of YOU! If you‘re fundraising for something that you care about, people can tell. Just like how they can tell when you don’t really care.
4) Celebrate your little wins.

Any amount of money to be donated, is a huge win for the Kingdom of God. We celebrate God through it all. It’s him we represent after all.
